ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

Join the marine team for a guided visit to Plantation Island Resort’s coral nursery, operated in partnership with Fiji NGO Corals for Conservation.

Begin with a short introduction to the restoration programme before travelling by boat to the nursery area. Snorkel around the coral tables as the team points out growing coral fragments, signs of healing and the reef life using the nursery as habitat.

Your visit also supports ongoing coral conservation work around Malolo Lailai.

TRIP DETAILS

• Departure time: Shown when booking
• Check-in: 30 minutes before departure
• Check-in location: Dulcinea Charters office at Tavola Jetty for Plantation Island Resort guests
• Approximate duration: 70 minutes
• Snorkelling time: Two guided sessions of around 20 minutes
• Operating minimum: Six adult-fare equivalents
• Minimum calculation: Two child fares count as one adult-fare equivalent. Infant fares do not count towards the operating minimum
• Maximum: 25 passengers
• Swimming requirement: Guests entering the water must be confident swimmers

WHAT TO BRING

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• The coral nursery is in open water, with no shallow standing or resting area.
• There is no separate spectator fare. Every passenger must be booked in the applicable passenger category.
• Snorkelling equipment is not supplied by Dulcinea. Free equipment can be arranged directly with the Activities Bure before check-in.
• Coral condition, visibility, marine life and nursery access may change with the conditions.
• Please follow the marine team’s instructions and do not touch, stand on or remove coral or marine life.
• Guests must be staying on Malolo Lailai or have approved island access before booking.
